About
Stephen Koch writes about history and art and writing. The Modern Library Writer’s Workshop is probably his most widely read book, and his most recent is The Breaking Point: Hemingway, Dos Passos, and the Murder of José Robles. The one that’s been out there longest — in umpteen editions since 1973! — is Stargazer: The Life, World, and Films of Andy Warhol, and his most controversial book — by far — is Double Lives: Stalin, Willi Münzenberg, and the Seduction of the Intellectuals. He has written two critically acclaimed novels, The Bachelor’s Bride, and Night Watch.
When he’s not writing, Stephen manages the artistic estate of his late friend, the photographer Peter Hujar and lives in New York City with his wife and their 14-year-old daughter, Angelica.
